Little Samaritan Montessori Center opened its doors in 2003 with a simple but powerful belief:

As the Montessori early learning center for Midtown, we are part of the broader vision of Midtown Partners, a community-driven organization committed to strengthening families and revitalizing the Midtown neighborhood in Jackson. Their work reminds us daily that education doesn’t stand alone; it grows alongside housing, health, and opportunity.
From the beginning, Little Sam was created to provide high-quality, accessible early childhood education for children ages 0–4, rooted in Montessori principles that honor independence, curiosity, and each child’s natural development.
What started as a small center has grown into a trusted part of the Midtown school family. We serve generations of children and support families as they build strong foundations for lifelong learning. We are proud to be part of a larger continuum of care and education. We are proud to ensure that every child in our community has the opportunity to thrive from the very beginning.

We moved from a traditional daycare where my baby spent much of the day in swings or bouncers, and it just wasn’t the right fit for us. The Montessori environment here has been a completely different experience - open spaces, floor beds, and no containers, allowing the children to move freely and explore at their own pace.
